Davide Caredio is a postdoctoral researcher at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg, Germany. He completed his academic training with honors across Italy, Portugal, and Switzerland, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Biology at the University of Eastern Piedmont, a Master’s degree in Neuroscience at the University of Trieste following a research internship at the University of Coimbra, and a PhD at the University Hospital of Zurich. His doctoral research focused on neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases, where he investigated the role of resident brain immune cells using spatial transcriptomics, single-cell genomics, and computational biology. In 2025, he was awarded the prestigious SNSF Postdoc.Mobility Fellowship from the Swiss National Science Foundation and moved to Heidelberg, where he shifted his research toward cancer immunology. His current work combines intravital microscopy and spatial multi-omics to uncover how peripheral immune cells infiltrate the brain and dynamically interact with tumors across space and time.
